lives on bar stools

every seat taken
30 lives in an oval
male and female
fitting together a jigsaw puzzle
with each drink and their own truths
words jumbled on words
turning meanings right side up
building the corners first
finding the pattern
the meanings in glances
no one admitting to the pieces
swept under the rug.
