this is a reworking of a challenge poem
i did for my workgroup back in 02




worn down smiles



damp twisted sheets
knotted up dreams
fevered kaleidoscope images
change and prick
with each tick of the clock
tock tick tock

your side abandoned
cool sheets
colder heart beats elsewhere
thub dub thub

waking with a clenched jaw ache
another night of grinding emotions
wearing memories down to the nubs.
