I like this shot Sherry. Good lines, and interesting lighting. Your photography is way better than my poetry!

yes, sacred, but still messy. they have oak blossoms which are these green long fuzzy things that put a fine light green pollen over everything, inside and out for about 2 weeks, then they fall off and collect into these big tumbleweed deallies and get very heavy when wet, clog the gutters and in acorn season for about 2 weeks it sounds like big pebbles being thrown from the heavens. the trees are about 40 to 50 feet tall. it hurts when you get hit with an acorn from that height. the deer and the turkey are happy tho. they love them.
then, the leaves fall. you can wade ankle deep in them.
i love them, i care for them, but they laugh at me a few times each year! : )

There's your answer sherry, the deer love them, and you love wading thru the leaves too. We sometimes forget Nature was there for us to enjoy. Clearing the leaves should not be viewed as a task or burdensome chore. Even birds when they fly pooh pooh, though I guess it wouldn't sting as much as an acorn from 40 foot. lol! Laters ... Q

Thanks Q!
I love the smell of oak leaves in the fall. It makes me think of Asheville, NC in the fall of 1981.... but I'll spare the long story.
