this sunday is the annual scholarship luncheon
i always worry, hoping it turns out well for the kids!!
when we give out the awards and
the checks to the winners. i am very proud
of these scholarships. i am proud that i was invited
to join the committee a few years ago. it takes
a bit of planning and work to pull together the
money for the awards and to decide the winners from all
the essays submitted, but i really believe in these
awards. they go to the applicants that have demonstrated
the drive to succeed, a positive work ethic and service to
their communities, not grades. not everyone can be an
honor student, but anyone can have a positive attitude and
a good work ethic if they choose to make the effort. s

Sounds just great. Any little thing that we pick up now can turn into a great thing later. Just like a grain of sand slowly turned into a pearl by an oyster.

PS - Is that why they call them: "pearls of wisdom"?
Have a great day and a great Sunday. - Q

thanks, yes, i have bits and pieces of thoughts or sentences all over the place and then i have my "crap" folder in my files with poems that suck but i get bits or i get ideas even a word or two and go on to a new poem from there.

i have it labeled crap so that if something happens to me, my family and friends will understand that these works are crap and that i knew they were. i'd die all over again if they thought i was happy with those poems! ; )
