Children Learn What They Live

If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.

If children live with ridicule, they learn to be shy.

If children live with tolerance, they learn to be patient.

If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.

If children live with praise, they learn to appreciate.

If children live with fairness, they learn justice.

If children live with security, they learn faith.

If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.

If children live with acceptance, and friendship, they learn to find love in the world.

still pretty quiet. thankfully.
now, THESE are "hunters"

the people that are behind my home are not!

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

heard the first gunshot at 8:35!
freaking lazy so called
hunters.
monday. first day of deer season.
i'm waiting to hear the sounds of guns!

they aren't supposed to hunt behind these houses.
1st off, the houses are TOO close to the small patch
of woods behind them. 2ndly, everything except 1
very small strip of land is posted but that doesn't stop
LAZY people that call themselves hunters, most of
them don't even have a license on them.

i sweat out deer season every year because of them.

hunters, ha! hunters go out into real woods and HUNT.
they don't sit in a teeny patch of the suburbs between two
areas of houses and within a stones throw of a road that
SCHOOL BUSES travel and try to shoot deer that practically stand
there and look at them!

freaking jackasses with guns and no real skills.

my rant. s

A brain goes to a local bar

A brain walks into a bar and says,
"I'll have a pint of beer please."
The barman looks at him and says "Sorry, I can't serve you."
"Why not?" asks the brain.

"You're already out of your head."

LOOK OUT

BLOG THINGY BELOW...
What Your Face Says
At first glance, people see you as driven and ambitious.
Overall, your true self is passionate and physical.
With friends, you seem logical, detached, and a bit manipulative.
In love, you seem mysterious and interesting.
In stressful situations, you seem cheerful and optimistic.
What Do People Think Of Your Face?

" Not by wrath does one kill, but by laughter. "

Friedrich Nietzsche

think about it.
there's an orgy of leaf blowing at this very moment.
tho, at least today, it makes sense. almost all
of the leaves are down and now seems the
appropriate time to clean out the gutters ONCE and
to clear the yards and the bushes of a good 4 inches of
oak and maple leaves. i'm praying that after today the leafblowers
will be stored away in sheds and garages for the winter.

me, i'm roasting a chicken. ; )
Restless Night

by Tu Fu

As bamboo chill drifts into the bedroom,
Moonlight fills every corner of our
Garden. Heavy dew beads and trickles.
Stars suddenly there, sparse, next aren't.

Fireflies in dark flight flash. Waking
Waterbirds begin calling, one to another.
All things caught between shield and sword,
All grief empty, the clear night passes.

have to get my mamogram later today.
don't want to, but it's a wise thing to do.

i've posted on this before and some political blogs
have run this continuing saga of the soldier's widows and
their fight to have their late husband's religion
recognized on their headstones.

read the article, see how many,. many religions ARE
afforded a symbol for the headstone and then tell me,
tell the widows of 2 brave soldiers WHY they have been given
such grief in this land where we are supposed to have
freedom of religion.

they had the symbol on their dogtags, why NOT the headstones?
all i can think of is discrimination of the worst sort.

happy birthday boag!

it was a great party!!!!

this is my friend rhino. i've mentioned him
and his wife, sadie in my blog before. it's a funny
thing. rhino went to school with my daughter and had
been to my old home during high school. years later
we ran into each other at the club we belong to and
never recognized each other. small world.
i saw sadie and rhino last night and asked
if i could put rhino's picture up because
sadie (and her boss )have looked at my blog.
sadie is just a sweetie and a hoot and
rhino has an artist's soul
in the body of a hard working, rugged guy.
i don't run into them often, but it's fun when i do.

hi to sadie and her boss! sherry

A: Everyone kept telling him to get a long, little doggie.

the poem below is a work in progress.
feasting

we eat each other up
sitting around this place
like family at the table.

some take little bites
savoring the taste before the first swallow.
so refined and ladylike.
you don't notice them picking
their teeth with the bones.

others take huge bites from the
ego served up but so greedy
they spit the bloody chunks on the floor
as they reach out to fork the last piece.

they leave an empty platter and wipe
greasy fingers on the leg of their trousers.

some slip a tastly little bit
to the dogs that drool at the feet of their masters.
the growls and snapping teeth amuse us
so we throw scraps of infidelity and abuse,
like fat cut from a well marbled steak.

we feast well and grow fat enough
to set out a bountiful table for the hungry dinners
that take our place.

don't know WHAT my daughter's going to do.
bob barker's going to RETIRE!
she just loves that show.
a rainy november 1st.

went over to pudd'n and GL's last evening to help hand out
candy. there aren't any on the street here so pudd'n had
a fire barrel in the driveway and a bunch of us went over there.
there was food for us and treats for the little ghosties and goblins.
i brought over a big bag of candy to add to the bowl. when the rain
stopped the kids came out and it was cool.
