well, everyone had a good time at the scholarship fundraiser, but we did not do as well as i had hoped.

Well, a good time is something positive, at least; just sucks to work that hard for a good time.

I recently coordinated a modest fund-raiser for a non-profit I'm associated with, hoping to raise a couple thousand dollars for a good cause. When all was said and done, I had in my hand about as much as I had spent to make it happen, notwithstanding the time I had put into it.

Good thing we all had a blast!

thanks. it is a hard thing to do.
when 1 group finds something that works, soon every church or firehall etc. decides to do the same thing and people get bored or knowing that they only have enough to go to 1 or 2 events, they support their favorites.
being a club with a board and by laws tho, we are not the only group looking for funds so if we have a poor showing it doesn't help our cause with the membership.
the board so far have been very supportive but times are tough and i could not fault them if the decided to cut back on their help for our ideas.
so i'm a little bit down about it.
