from the group news blog...

Obama: You voted with the President 95% of the time. How can you say now you're against the budget when you were for it?

McCain: I'm well known as the Maverick of the Senate. I was against the Budget, against the war, against everything, and I'm glad I have a Maverick with me as a partner.

OH MY FUCKING GOD. And the moderator just moved on to the next question. Oh.My.God.

Some "moderator!" I got rather irritated and/or bored with the debate and quit paying attention at some point. (OK, maybe I was a little drunk too!)

I don't think the structure of the debate is set up so that the moderator intervenes in lies told by the debators, is it? It's up to Americans to see the lies for what they are and vote accordingly. Too bad people are so out of touch with what's really happening in Washington.

he did drive me a liitle crazy insisting that they talk to each other.

it reminded me of a pre-school teacher asking them to "make nice"
